In addition to competing in the four official events, the men were given the opportunity on Saturday night during the finals of the Arnold Bodybuilding Classic to attempt to lift the Thomas Inch "unliftable" dumbbell.  The Inch Bell has a very thick handle and weighs 172 pounds, and only a handful of men have managed to deadlift it.  A prize of $1000 was awarded to the man who could pull it the highest in the air.  Five men--Bergmanis, Philippi, Pfister, Schoonveld, and Henry--chose to try the Bell and Henry won the $1000 by pulling it to the level of his chest. As an exhibition, Pfister took the Inch Bell to his chest with two hands and jerked it.  The crowd gave him a standing ovation and Jim Lorimer awarded him $1000 for his impromptu feat.
